    Cookie Policy

    Last Updated: October 2023

This Cookie Policy explains how GetAttrib ("we", "us", or "our") uses cookies and similar technologies, both on our own website (getattrib.com) and through the tracking pixel we provide to our customers.

    1. What are Cookies and Local Storage?

    • Cookies are small text files placed on your device by websites you visit. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently and provide tracking information.
    • SessionStorage / LocalStorage are web storage objects used to store data in your browser. Unlike cookies, they are not automatically sent to the server with every HTTP request.

    2. How the GetAttrib Pixel Works (For Our Customers' End-Users)

If you visit a website that uses the GetAttrib tracking pixel, please note:

    • No Traditional Tracking Cookies: Our tracking pixel does not rely on traditional third-party cookies.
    • SessionStorage Usage: We use sessionStorage (and occasionally localStorage) to assign a unique, randomized string (a "Visitor ID") to your browser session. This allows us to persist your UTM parameters (e.g., the ad you clicked) across the pages you visit on that specific website so that if you make a purchase or fill out a form, the website owner can attribute it to the correct marketing campaign.
    • Privacy First: We do not track you across the internet. The identifiers we generate are strictly first-party to the website you are currently visiting.

    3. Cookies Used on Our Website (getattrib.com)

When you visit our own website or log into the GetAttrib dashboard, we use cookies for:

    • Authentication & Security: To keep you logged in and secure your session (managed by Supabase).
    • Essential Functionality: To remember your preferences and ensure the web app functions correctly.

    Types of Cookies We Use

    1. Strictly Necessary Cookies: Essential for the website to function. Cannot be switched off. (e.g., authentication tokens).
    2. Analytics Cookies (If applicable): To help us understand how visitors interact with our website.

    4. Managing Your Preferences

Most web browsers allow you to control cookies and local storage through their settings preferences. You can configure your browser to reject cookies or delete them entirely. Please note that restricting cookies or sessionStorage may impact the functionality of our website and the accuracy of our tracking service.
